Reid Park Zoological Society is seeking a Development Associate. Two years’ office work experience. High School/ GED essential. This position is open until filled.

We provide educational and fun experiences for visitors of all ages. Reid Park Zoo is the largest attended cultural attraction in Southern Arizona with approximately 500,000 visitors annually. The Development Associate is responsible for providing office support for the Development Department including sub-departments of Membership and Events.
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Responsibilities:
Office Support
- Providing highest level of customer service to donors, office visitors, volunteers
- Filing and organizing office supplies, auction items, storage, etc.
- Mailings – folding, stamping, mailing documents
- Assist with recording donor interactions for the department
- Assist with phone calls, takes messages, provides general information
- Copies and/or duplicates materials as requested
- Other office duties as assigned such as shredding, running errands, placing orders, etc.
Development & Special Events
- Assist with mailings
- Assist with follow-up calls and emails to vendors and auction donations
- Assist with submitting online requests for auction donations
- Assist with research for solicitations of restaurants, auction donors, etc.
- Assist at events with set-up, tear-down, other duties
- Assist with phone calls, takes messages, provides general information
- Other duties as assigned such as running errands, placing orders, etc.
Administrative:
- Perform duties in accordance with RPZS policies such as completing expense reports, purchasing and cash handling procedures
- Provide excellent customer service as a component of all job duties
- Follows Zoo safety protocols and procedures
Minimum qualifications and skills
- Two years’ office working experience
- High School/ GED required
- Current driver’s license
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Demonstrated customer service, problem solving, decision making, team building, time management and motivational skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, donors, community partners and vendors
- Regular attendance at work
- Ability to work flexible schedules including occasional evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to provide development staff with weekly meeting agendas; attend weekly development meetings and provide meeting notes as requested

Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor degree
- Knowledge & experience of Blackbaud products or Altru software
- Bi-lingual (Spanish)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to bend, lift and carry up to 20lbs
• Ability to sit for several hours
• Ability to work in varying temperatures as some events will be outdoors
• Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, telephone, copier and printer
